My passion is genuine. I really want you to have the best possible birth outcome. It saddens me that traumatic birth experiences still happen in situations where it could have been avoided. I have experienced birth myself three times and know how it feels to be one of those traumatic birth stories family and friends might be telling you about. I don’t want this experience for you.

Why pick me to be your Birth Educator?

It’s OK if you feel scared right now…

And if you haven’t got a clue what to expect from birth, that’s OK too.

Honestly, how are you supposed to feel confident about something you’ve never experienced before, especially when you’re bombarded with horror stories and conflicting advice?

That’s where I come in. My Nurtured Beginnings Hypnobirthing courses are designed to help you feel more informed, prepared and confident about birth. Not by promising you a perfect birth, but by giving you the tools and knowledge to navigate whatever your birth looks like.

Here’s what makes my courses different…

✨ Evidence-based, not fear-based. I use up-to-date research and evidence to shape my sessions, helping you understand how birth works, explore your options and feel confident asking questions. We’ll look at your birth preferences, your rights and how to make informed decisions about your care.

✨ Relaxation with a purpose. No, you don't have to be a bit 'woo' to benefit from hypnobirthing! I teach you practical breathing and relaxation techniques to help you manage fear, feel calmer and work with your body during labour.

✨ Your birth partner matters too! They’re included throughout the course because they deserve to know how to support you, what they can do to help and how to be your advocate when you need them.

✨ Small, friendly and sociable groups. No sitting in a room listening to someone talk at you for hours! There’s time to chat, share your thoughts, ask questions and talk through the things that might be worrying you.

✨ Hands-on and interactive. As a primary school teacher, I love making learning practical! Expect demonstrations and activities to help you understand the ins and outs of birth. And don't worry, nothing graphic, I promise! 😂

✨ Realistic birth preparation. I'm not going to promise you a pain-free, picture-perfect birth. I'm going to help you prepare for the birth you want, understand your options if things change, and feel confident making decisions along the way.

Because you deserve more than being told to just breathe and see what happens.

You deserve to understand birth, know your options and feel confident walking into that birth room.

No airy-fairy promises. No scare tactics. Just honest, practical birth preparation with me, Katie, at Nurtured Beginnings Hypnobirthing. ❤️

“Katie was absolutely fantastic, so welcoming, approachable, and clearly very experienced. She created a really comfortable environment where no question felt too small.”
— Leanne

Why is my birth partner’s role so important?

Your birth partner is your safe place, the person that keeps you calm and grounded during labour so there role is essential!

Your birth partner will keep you safe, supported and confident. It is not just about ‘being there’ it is about being there for you. They can help communicate your wants and needs to the midwives, ask questions and advocate for you.

They can offer you physical support through massage, helping you change positions, practicing your breathing techniques with you, getting you snacks and keeping you hydrated and ensuring your birthing environment remains calm.

Research has shown that a supportive birth partner is associated with; lower likelihood for interventions, reducing the need for medical pain relief, greater birth satisfaction and sometimes shorter labour.

The best birth partners are calm, reliable, willing to learn, emotionally attune and able to advocate for you respectfully.

“We learnt things we never knew, despite already having had a daughter 2 years ago, and never felt embarrassed to ask questions.
”
— Andy
